Wet Belt Specialists
WHAT IS A WET BELT? A wet belt, also called a belt-in-oil timing belt, is an engine part that keeps key components working in sync. Unlike a standard timing belt, it runs inside the engine and is constantly lubricated by engine oil.
Some manufacturers, including Ford and Peugeot/Citroën/Vauxhall, use wet belts to improve fuel efficiency, reduce friction, and meet modern emissions standards.
WHY DO THEY FAIL?
Although wet belts are designed to be long-lasting, they gradually degrade as heat and engine oil break down the rubber materials.
As the belt wears, small particles can contaminate the engine oil, which in turn accelerates further wear and damage.

If a wet belt isn’t replaced on time, it can lead to serious engine damage:
